We all have our preferred social network. For some it’s Twitter, or Facebook, maybe it’s Google Plus. Depending on what you’re looking to accomplish on social media, you choose what platform is right for you. Now, the answer to this might be obvious to some, but the most popular social network for CEO’s is LinkedIn. I know, I’m saying this like it’s surprising news, and believe it or not it actually is considering a few things.
1. Over 70% of CEO’s aren’t using social media, at all.
I’m not totally surprised by this to be honest. If Blogger Effect wasn’t a tech startup I probably wouldn’t use social media very much in the position of CEO. Why? I wouldn’t have time, and quite frankly for business purposes, there are other people to manage it.
2. LinkedIn is the only popular professional social network.
If I’m doing 15 million things a day, I want to make the most of my time. I’d do that with LinkedIn, hands down. It allows me to connect, keep up with current trends and news as well as keep an eye on stakeholders, competitors and my industry as a whole. That sounds like a much better use of my time than sifting through thousands of tweets.
What are your thoughts? Do you agree that LinkedIn is pretty much the only popular professional network?
